A Note from The Kendrick Family.....

Forward to 2014......Dad's been gone now three years. Not a day goes by that we don't miss him! This blog was created to update you about his sickness, then his death, but now with our tribute to him. For 18 months we have been capturing and digitally recording our emotions and sincere desire to honor Dad. Yes, he has gone on the be with Jesus, but his love of music lives on in his family.

Bakersfield National Cemetery

Dad was buried on Monday at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. They use decomposed granite on the grounds instead of grass to make it look more natural for the country setting. Dad was buried in section 18, which in golf is the final hole...so I guess we could say, "Dad finished the course."

Memorial Service~ Lompoc

Today we had a beautiful Memorial Service in Lompoc where some of the saints of the Gospel Lighthouse were able to speak and tell of some memories of their Pastor. It was a very sweet and heart felt service.

Love of Gods People

I am overwhelmed by the love and support that has been shown to my mom and our family during this difficult time. We arrived back at my moms home today to find a beautiful arrangement of roses waiting for her at the front door from Elder & Sis Frazier. So many things have been done that has expressed Gods love to my mom & the family through His people. Wow!! I love Gods people!!

A Tribute to a Great Man

I cannot think of enough words to describe the most wonderful man that impacted all our of lives so greatly. For those who were at the memorial and the funeral, you will have left with that knowledge. Dad will be missed by his family, but also by his many friends.

God is our strength and his presence was at the funeral. We had church just like Dad would have wanted. It was an amazing service. God let us to know, that we're not walking this alone.

Our family misses Dad so much......but his memories will live on. As Elder Copeland said, His ship has sailed off and we cannot see him on the horizon......but we will see him again soon.

Our Hero....
